Team Vortex is the actual and potential crew members on the X-35 Vortex. Vortex may be entered in competition as Starting Vortex, Trailing Vortex, Tip Vortex or The Total Perspective Vortex (depending on the mood).

 

Vortex was purchased in 2012 and promptly entered in the European Championships at Hankø 29 days later. Their first attempt in a class event ended in an 8'th place, just shy of the upper half. Short on one crew and with a base of dingy sailors from the skippers portefolio as an Opti-coach (strengtened with Jette Dalegaard from Foxy Lady) made for a sharp learning curve.

 

In the years following the initial season Vortex stood out in many respect as the boat to beat on the Norwegian scene but 2016 and 2017 saw the rise of several other viking crews and the place at the top is not so guaranteed anymore. As the class commodore in Norway skipper Martin sees no harm in this and is willing to fight back for a place in the sun (the podium).

 

Martin and his team has also been active for several years in match racing (ranked at their height as #100 on the world ranking). The blue book has been well read so keeping your distance in the pre-start is adviced ;-)
